Helpful hints for maintaining your Streetrod or Club Car®:
- All gas machines should have their first maintenance after it’s first 75 hours. After that, have your gas car serviced annually or every 100 hours. We use a synthetic oil for our Streetrod Gas Karts.
- Check the air in your tires monthly – keep 22 to 25 PSI.
- For electric cars check your batteries monthly! This is the most costly and common mistake by golf car owners; batteries contain acid that is very corrosive. It is important to clean your batteries frequently as the acid will damage your golf car. Be sure to hose down your drive immediately after cleaning your battery or you could end up with a rust colored stain from your battery acid. Baking Soda and water will work to clean your batteries. Over filling the water in your batteries can cause the acid to bubble out since the liquid in the batteries expands when the batteries are being charged. It’s better to add water after the battery is charged, not before.
- For seasonal users with gas cars, use a gas stabilizer if your car won’t be used for several months. Keep it in a climate controlled place, not a hot garage.
